Greetings Ebenezer Church Family,

A word about prayer:

One of the ways that we can stay connected during this time when we are not able to see one another as much as we would like is through prayer. So please make it a point to pray for our church family each day during these days of social distancing. And please contact me with any prayer requests or if you have any other needs and I will continue to send out updates via email.

A devotional thought for today:

On Monday I was sitting outside enjoying the sunshine when I heard a familiar sound that I haven’t heard in a while. I couldn’t see it but somewhere nearby a bird was singing. As I sat and listened to her beautiful song it occurred to me that she was not the least bit concerned about a virus or anything else. She could sense that spring is coming, just like it does every year, and it prompted a song. It was like she was singing a hymn to her creator: thanking God for the thawing of the earth and for the new life that is waiting to burst forth. Spring will come this year just like it does every year and there’s no virus in the world powerful enough to stop it.

Those thoughts brought to my mind a well-known passage of Scripture: “Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” (Matthew 6:26-27)

In these anxious times, it’s good to be reminded that we have a Father in heaven who is watching over us and who loves us. He cares what happens to the birds. And He cares what happens to you.

Grace and peace to you.

Thanking God for each one of you.
